豬人(pigman)是住在豬房子的中立居民,是一種像人的動物,常常作著縮起來的姿勢,而且牠們穿草裙作為預設的服裝,攻擊豬人會激怒牠與所有附近的豬人。豬人死後會掉一塊大肉或一塊豬皮,牠們死後4天會從自己的房子重生,牠們被視為天真可愛的動物,所以殺一隻豬人會增加3點調皮值(naughtiness level),數值過高會讓坎普斯(Krampus)出現。豬人會吃任何在地板上的食物,如果豬人吃的是蔬菜類、水果類或花瓣,不論是在地板上的或是玩家給牠的,豬人都會大一坨大便,最快每15秒可以大一次,這讓豬人成為大便資源的一個主要來源。豬人也會把誘惑草(Lureplant)的肉當作食物,而且如果很靠近那株植物,豬人也會撿起來吃掉。
想用冰魔杖(Ice Staff)冰凍豬人的話需要揮兩次才能成功,睡眠吹箭(Sleep Dart)也是要兩發才能讓牠睡著,野生的豬人或跟隨你的豬人可以被任何醫療物品治療。牠們怕黑也會肚子餓,但是不會因為黑暗或飢餓而死亡,吃了有毒的食物也不會受傷,所有的豬人都對蜘蛛人(Webber)有敵意,因為他被視為是怪獸的一份子。

豬人守衛(Guardian Pig)[]
豬人守衛是從豬人火炬(Pig Torches)誕生的敵意豬人,牠們有比普通豬人更高的健康值,但是死後掉落一樣的東西。牠們不能用肉來賄賂,也不會被一人樂團(One-man Band)吸引,這讓牠們一出生就非常效忠於牠們尊敬的豬王(Pig King)。如果一隻豬人守衛死了,3天後會在豬人火炬復活。在沙盒模式,牠們可能坐落在地圖中間的位置,尤其守衛著一小區乾草(Grass)與梅果樹叢(Berry Bushes)。然而在冒險模式,牠們待在豬人堡壘,四周圍繞著木牆。在冒險模式的第4個世界,你可以找到4個圍繞豬王的豬人火炬,而不是方尖塔(Obelisks)。有時豬人守衛也會去看守Maxwell雕像。
狂暴豬人(Werepig)[]
在滿月或是吃了4塊怪獸肉之後豬人與豬人守衛會轉變成狂暴豬人(Werepigs),怪獸肉包含普通怪獸肉(Monster Meat)、烤怪獸肉(Cooked Monster Meat)、怪獸肉乾(Monster Jerky)、怪獸麵條(Monster Lasagna)、榴槤(Durian Extra)、烤榴槤(Smelly Durian)。狂暴豬人在4個遊戲小時或隔天的一開始之後會變成原來的豬人(豬人守衛時間更短),看是哪一個時間條件先到。
就像所有的怪物,牠們具有敵意而且會攻擊所有接近的動物(包括其他豬人), 狂暴豬人會停下來吃任何在地板上的食物,而且如果吃的是水果或蔬菜則會大便。不像正常的豬人,狂暴豬人也會吃生的曼陀羅草(Mandrakes)。狂暴豬人要用冰魔杖揮兩下才會結冰,死亡時會掉落2塊大肉與1塊豬皮。
下方是在預設模式每一種武器需要殺死豬人的攻擊次數,天氣痛苦儀(Weather Pain)不包含在裡面,因為它的傷害是隨機的。

餵豬人任何肉、蛋或肉類有關的食物,甚至是豬皮與吸血怪的毛皮(Slurper Pelt)都會讓豬人跟著玩家並盡力幫忙,幫你砍樹或打怪,最多維持2.5個遊戲天(肉類食物的飽食點數x19.2秒),例如餵一塊小肉(Morsel)給豬人會讓牠跟著你半個遊戲天,如果豬人對玩家有敵意,餵牠會讓牠停止攻擊。想攻擊豬人朋友可以按住Ctrl+左鍵,一旦攻擊豬人朋友,牠就會變得有敵意,而且不再跟著玩家。牠有敵意時,餵一次會讓他停止攻擊,餵第二次會讓牠跟著你。
當豬人朋友在玩家旁邊,會大幅增加玩家的理智值,然而他們會想要跟玩家保持距離,除非他們在睡覺或是砍樹。豬人只是暫時地跟隨你,當牠們的效忠時間過期了,就會做「好餓哦」的動作,也就是嘟著嘴還有磨蹭牠們的肚子,再次餵豬人會重新計算豬人的效忠時間,如果效忠時間到了,玩家也沒餵豬人肉,或是玩家死了後復活,豬人就會回到牠們各自的家,如果無家可歸就會漫遊在路上。跟著豬人可以用來幫助格鬥,豬人對付敵人會用風箏打法,當你想要讓一群敵人一隻隻落單來慢慢解決,卻又苦無對策時,這招很有用。
(阿專編輯附註:風箏打法指的是打一下之後馬上退後,重複這樣的模式來攻擊,豬人也會這招哦!)
單純地對目標發出攻擊指定,然後馬上退後而實際上不攻擊目標,依舊會傳達給豬人朋友對目標攻擊的指令。這方法可以用來獵殺中立動物或敵意動物而不直接與牠們接觸。然而,豬人一看到所有的怪物就會主動攻擊,包括蜘蛛、觸手怪(Tentacles)與樹人守衛(Treeguards),而且沒有辦法叫豬人別打這些怪物。
豬人還可以被雇用來砍樹.為了讓牠們幫你砍樹,玩家必須要用斧頭砍任何樹一次,豬人會跟著持續砍樹直到玩家與豬人的距離太遠,如果豬人砍樹砍到樹人守衛出現,樹人守衛會直接砍豬人。
自由的豬人(沒被餵肉的)會在黃昏時回自己的家,然而豬人朋友與無家可歸的豬人會變得很焦慮,而且開始變得不受控制,到處亂跑地找尋光源,因為牠們很怕黑暗,玩家應該快點提供光源,例如火把或火堆來安撫豬人朋友。
到了深夜時,豬人會在光源旁邊睡覺,在冬天,豬人不會睡覺,而是保持清醒的在火的旁邊說普通的黃昏對話,同時做出很害怕的動作。
在深夜,如果豬人還沒睡覺,而且蜘蛛或蝙蝠(Batilisks)在旁邊,不論光源有多強,豬人朋友會去追著攻擊牠們。在殺了目標之後,豬人會退回原來光源的地方。不幸的是,當與蜘蛛戰鬥,會造成滾雪球效應,也就是其他在這區域的蜘蛛都會來打那隻豬人,兩派人馬(蜘蛛與豬人)會持續地戰鬥直到一方全軍覆沒為止,任何掉落的肉或豬排都會被兩派人馬在戰鬥過程中或戰鬥結束後吃掉,除非玩家願意冒險走進戰場去撿那些東西。
豬人朋友也會因為玩家做的牙齒陷阱(tooth traps)而持續受傷,然而,這樣做並不會讓豬人朋友對你產生敵意,因此,也可以引誘豬人朋友進到陷阱裡面來殺了牠們。
豬人守衛[]
豬人守衛似乎對紀律有特定的想法,所以牠們不會吃任何在地上的食物,而且守在豬人火炬旁邊讓它持續燃燒著。如果普通豬人閒晃到離豬人守衛太近,豬人守衛就會去追普通豬人。
豬人守衛的行為會依據牠們的豬人火炬的地點而改變,如果豬人火炬在豬王旁邊,豬人守衛就會不情願地允許玩家與豬王交易,然而,如果豬人火炬是守衛著要塞,或離豬王很遠,豬人守衛就會追著玩家直到豬人守衛跑離牠們的火炬太遠。

豬人可以帶頭部裝備,用游標點頭部裝備再對豬人點一下就能把裝備裝在豬人的頭上。
如果豬人拿到頭盔裝備,就有增加防禦、減少傷害的效果,耐久度也會隨著豬人受到攻擊而減少。通常,唯一把帽子從豬人頭上拿回來的方法而不殺豬人就是用其他帽子替換它,因為如果去打豬人的話,頭部盔甲會在豬人死之前先壞掉,青蛙也可以讓豬人頭上的帽子掉下來。豬人也可以戴礦工帽,當戴了礦工帽之後,會提供照明,這樣豬人在黃昏與洞穴就不會恐懼了,也能幫附近的豬人讓牠們不恐慌。

如果你有足夠的怪獸肉,你可以讓豬人狂暴化,藉由殺狂暴豬人來得到更好的戰利品,給一塊怪獸肉給豬人,並且帶牠遠離豬人村莊,然後給他三塊以上的怪獸肉讓牠狂暴化,殺了狂暴豬人不會有調皮值(naughtiness)的懲罰。然而,豬人正在狂暴化時,還算是豬人,這時打牠的話,其他豬人也會打你,豬人要完全充分轉變成狂暴豬人後才不算是豬人的一份子
狂暴豬人可以拿來當成大便製造機,可以用一堆花朵或其他你不需要的蔬菜轉化成大便,牠在吃東西的時候就不會去追其他目標了。
為了從豬人朋友那裡提升更多的理智值,玩家必須很靠近豬人,例如牠們在忙著砍樹或睡覺或給牠們東西,當牠們睡著時,玩家可以推牠們,有助於讓牠們聚在一起方便玩家增加理智值。其他的方法是用牆壁做一個轉角,讓豬人困在裡面。(阿專編輯附註:要先餵豬人肉類,讓牠變成你的朋友,靠近牠們才可以增加理智值哦)
如果有成群的豬人靠近蜘蛛巢穴( Spider Dens) 或蜘蛛女王(Spider Queen)的話,你可以先跟一隻豬人做朋友,派牠去打蜘蛛巢穴或蜘蛛女王就能輕鬆地讓牠們為你奮鬥。當蜘蛛攻擊你的朋友(豬人),其他原本中立的豬人就會衝過來幫牠, 讓你能收集戰利品,而且只花1塊大肉就能得到大批援軍的好處。
狂暴豬人是很危險的,在滿月的晚上建議遠離豬人村莊,(即使這代表要離開玩家建造的據點),如果你想要殺狂暴豬人(或者單純想看牠),最好在這兩種方法中選一個來用怪獸肉去餵豬人。
一個得大便的好方法是放一個一個的蔬菜在豬人村莊的前面(按住Ctrl+左鍵就能把物品分成一個一個)豬人村民到遲早會把那些食物都吃光,留一堆大便讓你撿得夠。
豬人的名字[]
豬人會得到一個隨機的名字,可以藉由把滑鼠游標移到豬人上面(如果不是豬人朋友,就只能按住檢視按鍵來看)

豬王可以在哪找到呢?在圍繞著8座方尖塔的一片木製地板,有4隻豬人守衛與火炬在一堆豬人房子的旁邊,只要給豬王適合的物品 或肉,豬王就會給玩家金塊。

Pigs are referred to as "Pig Men" in the game files, but this label is never seen in-game, as the Pigs are referred to by their name. However, when Wolfgang examines a lit up pighouse while it's night, he will say, "Hey! Come out here, pig man!"
Pigs used to pick up any food left lying on the ground at first sight. This made it difficult for players to take on enemies with their pig friends and still get the meaty loot, so now there is a short delay before pigs recognize and eat any recently dropped food items.
The pigs punching down trees may be a reference to Minecraft, in which punching down trees is the first thing the player should do, and that there are also Pigmen (which are unimplemented), though there are Zombie Pigmen. However this seems quite unlikely, as the connection is incredibly sparse. (Actually, the pigmen in Minecraft were originally intended to be used as villagers in a later build of the game, this was scrapped for the current Minecraft villagers, so, the connection may be a bit more "there" than that)
Pigs seem to have many Roman Names, especially those of emperors, such as 'Augustus', 'Constantine', 'Quintillus', 'Nero', 'Romulus' and 'Vespasian'.
In previous updates, Pigs used to talk more often, saying things along the lines of "You not pig" and "Ugly monkey man" when referring to Wilson. These lines have since been removed.
Pigs used to panic if given any non-fire light source before All's Well That Maxwell, and they will still refer to any light source as a fire.
Guardian Pigs were added in A Little Rain Must Fall update.
Their phrase "For great justice!" is a reference to All your base.
Though they cannot be bribed, the player can still feed meat items to Guardian Pigs.
A Werepig will retain any hat item given to them before transformation. If killed, it will drop that item, similar to a Pig.
If a Pig is being chased by any type of hostile Pig, it will run from it. It will keep running if the Pig gets in range, until the Pig is hit.
It was once possible to easily kill a Werepig during its transformation phase before it had a chance to attack, since it would stop to howl before beginning its assault, giving the player ample time to land many hits. This is no longer possible as Werepigs will now instantly transform when hit.

At night, Pigs in their houses will sometimes talk as if they weren't. For instance, they will talk about how much they dislike darkness, and when hostile mobs wander near, they'll make their usual fight chatter.
If you built a Pig House near the ocean, occasionally, they will (re)spawn and walk on the ocean.
Pigs have also been known to "moonwalk".
Due to the way the "Give" command works, it's possible to give Pigs items such as Thulecite or Gems, which cannot be retrieved without killing the Pig. Pigs however will still turn down Teleportato pieces or Gravedigger items.
In previous updates, if a Pig's house was behind an obstacle (say, a land border), at dusk the Pig would run continuously into the obstacle or border through dusk and night time until day returned. This still happens, but very rarely.
If there has been a full moon since the last time the player has entered or exited a cave, any Pigs following will turn into Werepigs when the player switches levels. This is due to the world's time needing to catch up on the new level, and ultimately passing through the missed full moon. To prevent this, change levels alone initially, then have the Pig follow through.
